The grackle that is common around the great lakes is a medium sizes bird with a good sized tail compared to its body size.
The great tailed grackle we saw in Texas is a big bird with a huge tail.

Both have this incredible iridescence when the light hits them.

it surely stands to reason: If a bird is medium sized with a large tail around the Great Lakes, it would by logical extension be a large bird with a huge tail in Texas.
